Microcrystalline wax
Microcrystalline wax, also known as ceresin, melting point 60-90 degrees, insoluble in water, white amorphous amorphous solid wax, mainly composed of C31-70 branched saturated hydrocarbons, containing a small amount of cyclic, linear hydrocarbons, no Stinky and tasteless. Insoluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in hot ethanol, soluble in benzene, chloroform, ether, etc.; can be miscible with various mineral waxes, vegetable waxes and hot fatty oils. It is mainly prepared by using a residue obtained from petroleum fractionation as a raw material by a purification method. Polishing agent for paste products, rusting agent, carbon paper, candle, packaging impregnation and fruit coating; also used in cosmetics, colored pencils, shoe polish, various glazing wax, etc.

It is mainly composed of C31-70 branched-chain saturated hydrocarbons, containing a small amount of cyclic and linear hydrocarbons, and the ash content is below 0.05%. The content of lead and arsenic in heavy metals is below 2×10-6. The wax is highly viscous and malleable, and is not brittle at low temperatures, and has a property of preventing separation and precipitation of oil when mixed with liquid oil. The microcrystalline wax having a melting point of 77-80 ° C is somewhat ductile. Similar to soft wax, the microcrystalline wax having a melting point of 82-90 ° C is hard and looks like montan wax.
Synthesis method
Mainly using the refining method. The residue after petroleum fractionation is used as a raw material, and a fraction of a branched saturated hydrocarbon of C31 or more is distilled off, and then obtained by deoiling and decolorizing.
Main purpose
Polishing agent for paste products, rusting agent, carbon paper, candle, packaging impregnation and fruit coating; also used in cosmetics, colored pencils, shoe polish, various glazing wax, etc. 

Microcrystalline wax is often used in industries such as the tire and rubber, candles, adhesives, corrugated board, cosmetics, castings, and a host of others. Refineries may also utilize blending facilities to combine paraffin and microcrystalline waxes. This type of activity is prevalent especially for industries such as tire and rubber.
